Le Mans winning Audi R8 used Kistler ROADYN
System 2000 in suspension development.
With five podiums out of seven starts in the Le Mans
24 Hour race, the exceptionally reliable and fast Audi
R8 is the most consistently successful sports car in
the world.
Making a small but essential contribution to the success of the R8, the
enhanced Kistler (www.kistler.com) six component RoaDyn System
2000 measuring wheel is used during development to analyse
suspension performance under normal track testing. In addition to
high performance racing cars, the RoaDyn System 2000 is widely
used on less exotic vehicles from the smallest cars to the largest trucks.
The latest version of the RoaDyn system uses nearfield telemetry
and on-wheel signal conditioning to minimise and simplify installation.
Automatic sensor detection and calibration data upload enhances
operational safety and reduces the number of cable connections.
The highly modular design includes a single control system for all
measuring wheel applications to keep costs as low as possible as
the RoaDyn System 2000 measuring wheel can be used in applications
ranging from the smallest cars, SUV's and vans to light goods vehicles
and heavy trucks.
