Wireless Tilt System

All weather radio telemetry system offers high accuracy, remote angle
measurement data

a global leader in the design and manufacture of sensors for military, aerospace and industrial applications, reports increased demand for its Wireless
Tilt System (WTS). The WTS is designed to provide surveyors, geotechnical specialists, manufacturing managers, and structural engineers with a complete measurement solution, able to record and log data remotely without the cost and complexity of traditional wired methods.

Extremely robust, the WTS maintains precision accuracy operating in all weather conditions and offers a distortion-free digital two-way telemetry system. Multiple devices can operate across 16 channels,
each capable of supporting up to 200 data packets per second.

Key features of the WTS include a wireless range of up to 330ft
(100m), 18-bit resolution and an exceptional battery life of up to
five years. The system also operates on license free, worldwide 2.4GHz
and uses a propriety protocol based on an 804.15.4 chip, permitting
the WTS to co-exist with Bluetooth, Zigbee and WiFi devices without
conflict.

“The WTS eliminates the large revenues and intensive labour associated
with conventional wired methods of monitoring and assessing
manufacturing operations and asset structural health,” said Mike
Baker, Managing Director, Sherborne Sensors. “The engineer simply fits
the low power inclinometers to strategic points on a given structure
or component thus helping to determine range of motion, as well as any
structural weaknesses, and whether maintenance is required. This
simple and cost-effective solution is extremely beneficial, especially
when multiple readings must be obtained.”

The heart of the system features the WTS Wireless inclinometer, which
uses an advanced MEMS sensor to ensure high accuracy and maximum
reliability. A variety of complementary base stations and PC or
hand-held data acquisition modules are also available to deliver a
complete measurement solution configurable to any type of structural
health monitoring application. Furthermore, the WTS may be used to
verify design calculations during the manufacturing of new structures,
providing valuable data for refining computer models of structural
behaviour, as well as optimise the set up time for new and complex
manufacturing lines.

Sherborne Sensors can customise all of its inclinometers and
manufacture to comply with specific customer requirements within its
AS9100B Quality Management System. In addition, all Sherborne Sensors
products come with an industry exclusive two-year comprehensive
warranty and Guaranteed On-Time Delivery programme, and are
meticulously tested and calibrated to international standards prior to
shipment.
